During a recent visit to the Shires of Derby, Kununurra and Wyndham, I found overwhelming local support for the upgrade of the Tanami Road.

The 1000km access road that stretches from Alice Springs to Halls Creek is a vital transport corridor that benefits a great number of government, private and industry interests including Curtin Air Base, the Ord agricultural industry, Argyle and other mines, and the indigenous communities.

An upgrade to the Tanami Road will provide new opportunities right across the North for tourism, agriculture, mining and many other private sector investments, and I am working hard to secure this vital upgrade.
