Prime Minister John Howard announcing
the Perth Urban Roads package

Prime Minister John Howard was in Perth today to announce a phenomenal new package for Perth's urban roads.
The plan focuses on improving links to Perth Airport and Fremantle Port and is a part of the Coalition's 2020 plan for Australia's transport future, an integrated package tackling local roads and national highways.
The Prime Minister said that WA was crucial for the economic future of Australia and that he recognised Perth Airport and Fremantle Port
act as vital gateways for the West.
A key part of the $405 million investment will be a $232.5 million series of works to improve road access to Perth Airport
.
In addition, the Coalition will deliver upgrades to provide improved connections to Fremantle Port, assisting in the development of the inter-modal terminal network and associated infrastructure, reducing trucks on Perth
urban roads.
